Tropical Fruit Company > GUAVA

The guava is oval shaped and green. The fruit is very rich in vitamin C. The white or pink flesh underneath the hard skin has edible seeds and a sweet and sour taste. The fruit is eaten out of the hand or used as an ingredient for jam, sauces and juice. The skin can be eaten too, but has quite a bitter taste.

The fruit is ripe when it gives off a fragrant aroma and when the skin slightly gives when pressed in. Guava can be eaten out of the hand or by cutting it through the centre and scooping it out. The fruit is usually cut into slices, the seeds are removed, after which the guava is added to salads, desserts, etc. Ripe fruits are best stored in the fridge for a few days.
