Tropical Fruit Company > FIG

The fig is one of the oldest and best known fruits. The soft, thin skin is purple, black or green-yellow. The flesh varies from pink to red and purple and contains very small edible seeds. The fruit has a very sweet taste.

Due to its high sensitivity to pressure, the fig is picked very carefully and is individually packaged. The fig can be stored for 1-2 weeks at a temperature of 0C and 95% humidity. A fig is ripe when it feels firm to the touch. Figs with soft and brown spots are old. Figs are best stored in the fridge. Figs can be eaten out of the hand, but are often also used for game dishes, or used in jams and compotes. Figs have a high nutritional value and contain few calories.
